LookOut Mountain

My idea for this project was to communicate the views and feelings of being on top of Lookout Mountain throughout the day. I took pictures on different occasions. Each time I went to take photos I would be up there for about an hour to an hour and half taking pictures from different locations and then I would come back later on to capture the transition from day to night. Originally, my plan was to use one view for my project and to make a collage of that view from day and night images. However, when I began to work on the project on Photoshop I decided to use objects from multiple views and images.

Most of the project involved cutting parts of images and pasting them and I adjusted the opacity of many images to blend them. I also used the easier tool a lot to define edges and to blend images. I used the clone stamp in small areas to cover up inconsistencies like random lightened specks. I really wanted to convey the sense of being on the mountain and to make it look like my memories of objects on the mountain. Ultimately, I believe I had a good start but I didn’t achieve what I wanted to. I think the transition from day to night that takes place in the middle of the image could be done better.
